Nwachukwu Egbunike

Community Manager, Sub-Saharan Africa, Global Voices

Nwachukwu Egbunike lives in Ibadan, Nigeria. He has been a contributor for Global Voices since 2011 and is currently her Community Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa.

His scholarly and professional interests revolve around social media, politics, political participation, online free speech and ethnicity.

Egbunike is the author of a collection of socio-political critical essays entitled Dyed Thoughts: a Conversation in and from my Country (2012). His book, Blazing Moon was the 2nd place winner of the Association of Nigerian Authors 2015 Prize in Poetry. His third book – Hashtags: Social Media, Politics and Ethnicity in Nigeria – an ethnographic description of the social media political landscape in Nigeria is due to be released in October 2018.
