ICT Officer, Kasese District Local Government
Samuel Mumbere is the Information. Communication and Technology (ICT) Officer at the Kasese District Local Government in western Uganda where he is attached to the district E-Society Resource Centre (ESRC). He has worked in the ICT Technical support sector for the last 10 years. I am in charge of the usage of the online and off-line ICT platforms to promote citizens engagement in good governance and social accountability. The ERSC is a platform for engagement between various segments of society including government, civil society, the youth and the general community to promote the Access To Information (ATI) laws and the right to access information using the available online and offline channels for the local communities.
Before being recruited as the ICT Officer for Kasese, I worked with Rwenzori Information Centres Network (RIC-Net) in 2011-2013, an organization that promotes the E-Society project which geared towards promoting relevant public information access, sharing and dissemination using ICTs in the Rwenzori region.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology and Computing from Kyampogo University (Uganda), he is also a Cisco certified Network Associate
