Beatrice Mateyo

Beatrice is the Executive Director and co-founder of the Coalition for the Empowerment of Women and Girls (CEWAG) in Malawi which was founded in February 2017. She is a feminist and advocate for women’s right having worked in different organizations including international organizations and government. Beatrice  contributes to collective organizing with other local civil society networks and women groups in women’s rights and gender based violence and is currently a member of the Human Rights Defenders Coalition of Malawi.

She takes part in lobbying and advocacy for women’s and girl’s rights both online and offline, through multiple channels like CEWAG as well as in conjunction with other organizations
